With its unique formula, Drano® Pipe & Septic Care works in two ways. For septic tanks, it contains natural enzymes and bacteria that promote the health of your system with every dose. What's more, it removes drain build-up by coating your pipe walls and breaking down the gunk that blocks your pipes. Use it on a monthly basis to help keep your septic system and drains running smoothly.

- For slow-running drains, run warm water (not hot) through drain for one minute.
- Turn off water and pour one third of a 33.5 oz. bottle directly into drain.
- Briefly run water again (approximately two cups) to activate and distribute formula along pipe walls. Allow enzymes to work overnight or while at work (six to eight hours) before running water in drain again.
- Repeat using one capful every two to four weeks. For more severe problems, follow directions above three nights in a row, using one capful of Drano® Pipe & Septic Care.
- For slow-running toilets, flush two capfuls down toilet for three consecutive days. Avoid flushing for six to eight hours after each treatment.
Start-Up Treatment: Flush 4 ounces down toilet for 3 consecutive days. Don’t flush for 6 – 8 hours after initial treatment
Ongoing Prevention: Pour 2 ounces down each drain and 4 ounces down each toilet every month.
Initial use may cause loosened build-up to temporarily slow or in rare cases block the flow of water. Do not worry – this means that the product is working to remove build-up. If this occurs, plunge and repeat the treatment. Avoid using other drain openers during this time.
