I would like to know if drano can be used on platic pipes?

Absolutely! Drano is formulated safe for all pipes and plumbing fixtures. It is safe to use in homes that have septic systems as well.

I used the Drano Max gel in standing water & it sat overnight because I thought it was going to work with in the 30 minutes for a tough clog. I tried the hot water bit a few times & a plunger several times. Now I still have standing water with a bottle of Drano in my sink, now what do I do?

Hi Carol – sorry that our product didn’t work for you! If you are still having trouble with your drain, perhaps try a disposable drain snake. You can often find them at your local Home Depot or Lowe’s store and they do a good job of freeing up hair and gunk that gels don’t dissolve. And as always, you can take advantage of our Money Back Guarantee on our homepage if you are not satisfied.

I used the Max Gel in the standing water in my tub, the gel seemed to almost spread through the water instead of sinking straight into the pipe as its supposed to, it didnt make the water go down, and even though i flushed with hot water after, the tub still had standing water so i dont know how effective that was. The next morning, the tub had drained but there is a hard whitish substance in the drain that wont disappear even when poking it with a screwdriver. Pot and pot of boiling water hasnt helped (though the tub does drain)...does the gel harden like this?? What do i do???

Hi Katherine. It sounds like the product worked, but left some residue behind. Try using a powder-based cleaner (such as Comet) to scrub the residue away. Use it on a smaller area first to see if it works. If so, you can clean the entire tub. Hope this helps!

I used the Drano Foam on a slow bathtub drain. It's a claw foot tub and some of the foam got on the surface around the drain and it left a brown stain. How do I clean this stain? Could it have eaten away the finish? How can I tell? Please help. Thanks.

Hi Emily! We recommend using a light cleaner (like a Comet powder or spray) to clean up the stain. That should do the trick. However, if you are still having issues feel free to call our help center at 1-800-558-5252 and we’d be happy to provide alternate solutions.
