Maybe it’s just us, but we think there’s something nice about the “whoosh” sound of a well-operating, problem-free toilet as it flushes.
But do you know what we think is even nicer? The “whoosh” sound of 443 well-operating, problem-free toilets as they flush—ALL AT ONCE. (Although with that many toilets flushing at once, it’s more of a rumble than a whoosh.)
We’re excited to share that Drano® was a proud sponsor of the Royal Flush Event held on September 8th at the beautiful, newly-constructed Amway Center arena in Orlando. The Amway Center is the new home for the Orlando Magic basketball team.
As part of the regulations involved in opening the arena, the builders wanted to test the plumbing system by flushing all of the toilets in the stadium at the same time to observe sanitary sewer flows, water consumption and pressure in and around the new arena. This was the perfect opportunity to create a fun-filled event—hence the Drano® Royal Flush was created! Approximately 443 toilets were flushed simultaneously in the event. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Orlando Magic Chief Operating Officer Alex Martins and more than 150 people took part, including fourth and fifth grade students from Nap Ford Community School.
Leading up to the big flush, Drano® held a Royal Flush sweepstakes and selected four winners. The grand-prize winner was named “Grand Marshal” of the Royal Flush and was invited into the arena to push the button that flushed all of the toilets at once—talk about power at your fingertips! That same day, a group of local media outlets (TV channels, radio stations, newspaper writers) were invited to the stadium to witness the event and get a tour of the new arena’s facilities. All four Drano® Royal Flush prize winners received a tour as well, along with free Drano® products.
All in all, the event was a huge success and a great time. Check out our photos to take a first-hand look.
